Our Past:

Hotel Goldsboro

Hotel Goldsboro was built in 1924 in the center of downtown Goldsboro by Architect

W.L. Stoddart who also designed the Sir Walter Hotel in Raleigh, NC. The terrace was constructed in 1926 off of the hotel's dining room to provide a cooler place to enjoy the

days before air conditioning. It was used as an outdoor dining area for several years

before being enclosed. The hotel was a gathering place for many social functions in

town until it closed in the 1970s.
